Erasmus+ VET Pro

Galina Petrusevich (France)

Bartender

2 months Internship (February 2026 – April 2026)

I studied English and working in a bar here - it was my goal to learn this specialty. I took place from mid-February to mid-April. I received a very warm welcome literally when I got off the bus when I arrived in Athens. They also supported me throughout my studies and literally guided me through the entire stage of my stay here: from signing a contract to being discharged from an internship. and I have always felt support and help from the curators responsible for my presence. I had to live in a very quiet, good part of the city, very far from my place of study and work. the room in the apartment was fully equipped with everything necessary, the household appliances were new and clean. The plan of my daily activities was perfectly drawn up. That's why I could plan my vacation to explore the sights of the city and museums. interactions with colleagues, teamwork, and their patient explanations really touched me. I studied without strain, very willingly, they are professional workers and friendly young people. They spoke excellent English, so it was very useful for me to improve my English by practicing it every day.

I was lucky to have a very good working relationship with my colleagues, and I learned a lot from them: how to greet and receive clients correctly; prepare the workplace for work and correctly pour drinks in standard proportions; distinguish between ways to mix cocktails; choose the necessary bottles of alcohol quickly, there are many others; not forget to wash the workplace immediately after preparing individual portions for customers; customer billing, etc., etc. The boss's favorable attitude towards my learning attempts and my mistakes. In general, the entire Greek population is extremely friendly and always ready to help people. It was easy to adapt to the rhythm of life here, and everything is easy here, thanks to the universal atmosphere and the mentality of the population. The proximity of the city to the sea amazed me, of course! In two months, I haven't seen everything I would like to see, because the volume of cultural life here is so great that it's impossible to cover even 3 years of living in the capital. I am very grateful to those who welcomed me here, who supported me in this endeavor. Very well-coordinated and smart work! I highly recommend doing an internship in this wonderful corner of the earth, in this cultural capital! special thanks to Erasmus Greece, which undertook such a difficult task - to receive workers and specialists from different countries. It's a hard job that commands immense respect.

I have only good impressions, only positive emotions and wonderful memories of this period in my life. I really hope that this wonderful experience will definitely help me in my future existence, in my struggle to continue living my life with dignity professionally.

Leo Thomas (France)

Sales Assistant

6 months Internship (January 2025 – July 2025)

Firstly, it was not my first time in this country, before this experience, I traveled for tourism only. But this time, it was for work experience. I worked as sale assistant for a company which welcome guests in their properties.

I started this internship without stress or difficulties because my colleagues were benevolent and they taught me so lot during the period. For each problem, they didn’t hesitate to help me. They taught me news skills (check-in/check-out of guests, manage reservations, contact with the different services of company, prepare program for cleaning service….).

Today, at the moment where I am writing this testimonial, I acquired all these skills and I discovered the job of receptionist. I liked to do my best for guests; I liked to exchange with them about the tips in Athens. The company trusted me by giving me the responsibility to open the reception office daily.

When I didn’t work, I traveled inside Greece in order to discover other cities and landscapes. During these six months, I visited lot of places: Athens, Corinth, Loutraki, Nafplio, Chalkida, Patras, Hydra, Kalambaka, Egina, Andros. I discovered some part of Greece’s history and the beauty of each Greek region. I leaved also some Greek traditions and it was very emotional. I had the opportunity to look the military parade for the National Day of the country, I celebrated Easter….

For the next persons who will decide to participate to Erasmus program, don’t hesitate and enjoy this experience! You will have the luck to discover another culture and these traditions.

Ines Marchandise (France)

Hairdresser - 3 months Internship (February 2025 – April 2025)

My Erasmus experience has been one of the most enriching adventures of my life. Living in Greece for three months allowed me to step out of my comfort zone, improve my English, and discover a new culture full of history and warmth. I met wonderful people from different countries, shared unforgettable moments, and learned a lot about myself. This experience helped me grow personally and professionally, and I feel more confident and open-minded. I’m truly grateful for everything I’ve lived during this time, it’s a chapter I’ll never forget.

Sarah Ruiz (France)

Hotel Service - 3 months Internship (February 2025 – April 2025)

Kalimera, my name is Sarah i arrived in athens in the begging of february for 3 months, and every day is an adventure. I work in a hotel in the south of Athens next to the beach called "Oasis".

My team is amazing, im in the breakfast side and love to talk with customers, some are from Greece so i can practice my little vocabulary but also from asia, america, and of course Europe, and sometimes french people (feels like breathing fresh air talking in my language).

I met so much people since i arrived then i have my crew now : France, Germany, Austria or Greece our group is cosmopolitan.

When you live an experience like this, you are feeling fully happy because of the meeting you made. Everyone have a good energy and it's feel great to be surrounded by only good people.

Im feeling confident also now to talk in an other language and keep truing even sometimes i don't find my words.

But now it's the end and the most important is to never forget all the thing you lived on your experience and the opportunities that you have now thanks for this experience.

I would never regret coming to this beautiful country.

ΕΥΧΑΡΙΣΤΩ, thank you Erasmus+ for giving me a chance to live this.

Benoit Milhau (France)

Museum guide - 6 months Internship (December 2023 – May 2024)

I have to say that the Erasmus+ experience is a really great experience. For me it has been a life changing one, because it helped me to get a job directly at the end of the internship. However if I may tell to the future interns, you have to be creative when you do your Erasmus. Try things, ask to do things, that's really how I enjoyed even more my stay here in Greece and in the museum. So yes, Erasmus+ is a really great program or I must say tool. But we have to use this tool in a lot of creative way so we get the whole experience done.

Erasmus+ is a wonderful experience for your professional life but also for your private life. It will allow to develop new skills of course but it also will help you to discover that you have hidden talents.

Athens is an exciting city that you have to discover in all its aspects: History, architecture and lifestyle. It is nice night and day.

I met so many nice people there. Greek people are kind and lovely but everyone who meet them will tell you the same thing than me.

So enjoy this kindship to find yourself!

Alfons, María and Sam (Spain)

Social Workers - 2 months Internship (June – July 2023)

Being in Erasmus here in Greece has a been a great life experience and very good for the course we are studying. We have worked in the company Faros with refugees that where minors, and it’s made us learn many things. It’s been beautiful because we have created a very big bond with the working staff and the refugee kids. We worked mainly in the dropping center and we assisted the people there with everything they needed, we cooked for them, helped them wash their clothes, play games… We aswell helped clean the center and other needs. Apart from the dropping center, we assisted in the school Faros has, when the staff needed our help we went there and accompanied the kids in their education and made various projects with them about daily life skills, social media etc. On the other side, the house were we stayed was very nice, perfect for all the comodities we needed and it was aswell very close to the center of Athens wich has been very good for transportation. We have aswell had a chance for turism and we’ve been in many places like Acropolis, museums, beaches, Delphi temple, Santorini etc. We would definetly repeat again this experience, we are very happy!!!

Floreva Bernaudeau (France)

Biologist - 3 months Internship (February - May 2023)

The last three months have been great. Very nice encounters in a magnificent historical city. The Greeks are really very welcoming, kind and benevolent, even more so if you try to learn some expressions in their language. Professionally, I met a great team who work in a good atmosphere and who really helped me to progress in English. Of course, Greece does not stop at Athens. I had the chance to go to Delphi, Meteora and the islands and I have never been disappointed by the beauty of the landscapes!

Djibril Lu (France)

Waiter - 3 months Internship (Jan - April 2023)

It was an enriching experience mainly on a human level. The hospitality of the Oasis hotel was remarkable, accommodating, kind and benevolent.

This experience allowed me to acquire softs skills like self-confidence and independence.

By going abroad without a reference, you must create your brands and adapt to all situations.

This is an experience that will allow you to improve your CV, your English and will take you out of your comfort zone.
